A split-level home was in need of an update for their lower level bar and family room.  The client was looking for hard-wearing surfaces with lots of style and visual impact for this multi-purpose space.
First, we started with a comfortable, generous sofa that offers ample lounging space with an easy to clean surface for dogs and kids.

A swivel chair that is upholstered to the floor offers a great counterpoint to the "legginess" of other pieces in the space.  The large geometric pattern on the fabric adds texture and interest.
An easily, moveable ottoman can be used as an extra seat or foot rest, where needed.
A durable, all vinyl plank floor is impervious to all spills and everything this busy family can throw its way.
A washable, neutral area rug will add texture and interest to the space without worrying about spills and dirt.
An adjustable, pharmacy, floor lamp is ideal for adjusting light for reading or task work without obstructing the view to the television or outdoors.
An ample coffee table is ideal for games, puzzles and game day snacks.
Pair of slim, storage end tables are ideal for stashing remotes, coasters, and anything else needed close at hand.
Salt-glazed ceramic lamps with light linen shades will flood the space with light and add gorgeous texture.
The client really wanted an electric fireplace in the space to add warmth and interest to this chilly, lower level space.
A pair of graphic, bold botanical prints have modern appeal and add a bold scale to the space.
Mid-century inspired metal pendants add interest and texture above the bar.
A copper bar sink adds interest and removes any resemblance to this space being merely a "satellite kitchen".  The clients wanted this to distinctly feel like a lounge and bar, and not a secondary kitchen.
A copper, all-in-one faucet make clean up a snap!

Painting the cabinetry in this smoky charcoal tone will add depth and interest to the storage elements in the lower level.

When all the elements combine, the result is a swanky, colorful and personality-filled space that will be enjoyed for years to come....
